Hello all!
It was a ferocious day in Tokyo as our Blyth Academy Travel Japan program visited a Samurai museum and trained first as samurai and then as ninjas.
The costumes were incredibly realistic, and the students were taught by a master, first in how to dress and then in how to handle the katana. Roommates squared off against one another as did friends and finally siblings. In a concluding contest, at the urging of the students, George and Forrest, our tour guide battled one another with George coming out on top.
After a tour of the museum and a history lesson on Japan's warrior history, it was on to the Ninja training. The students learned how to throw a ninja "star" and moved on to a competition. After several rounds Lucas emerged victorious.
Dinner and then back to the hotel completed the agenda for the day. The chatter on the bus was a clear sign that this was a very popular activity. I don't think we are quite ready for this adventure to be over. However, we still have a couple of days to enjoy everything this wonderful country has to offer.
さようなら
Sayōnara,
